Peptides and vitamin C. Vitamin C is valued as an antioxidant and for its role in the appearance of brightness. One practical point of formulation chemistry: pure L-ascorbic acid, the most acidic form of vitamin C, has a low pH that can destabilise certain peptides. More stable, non-acidic vitamin C derivatives tend to be more naturally compatible with peptide formulations, and gentler on sensitive-feeling skin.



Peptides and niacinamide. Niacinamide is one of skincare's most versatile ingredients, researched in relation to the skin barrier, the appearance of an even tone, and balanced-looking oil. Peptides and vitamin A (retinoids). Retinoids are among the most extensively researched ingredients for the appearance of skin renewal and firmness. Peptides are often used alongside them as a complementary approach, and for those who find retinoids too active, peptides can be a gentler-feeling option.



Peptides and hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that draws and holds water, supporting the feel of hydration and a plumper-looking surface. Different molecular weights behave differently on the skin, which is why layering hydration with peptides is a popular pairing.
