19% Hydroxy Acid Blend Lactic acid (AHA)

A natural and biocompatible exfoliant for effective removal of epidermal dead skin cells responsible for congestion. Also aids in hydration and is low irritant.

Salicylic acid (BHA)

An oil-loving acid that works on the uppermost layer of the skin and within the pores. It is excellent for acne sufferers as it can exfoliate and remove dead cells and debris trapped in pores.

Malic acid (AHA)

A powerful antioxidant and humectant that has hydrating properties and leaves a protective, moisturising layer on the ski n. It is also an oil loving hydroxy acid.

Barosma betulina (buchu) leaf extract

A plant-based ingredient that directly acts on sebocyte stem cells to reduce excess oil and enlarged pores. It is clinically proven to reduce pore diameter, pore volume and oil secretion.

Australian melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil

Australian melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil offers a naturally derived alternative for the topical treatment of acne due to its powerful and proven wound healing, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antifungal and antimicrobial properties.

Manuka oil

A potent antibacterial agent used for centuries in Māori tribes for wound healing. It is up to 33 times more potent than tea tree oil as an antibacterial agent and reduces the C. acnes bacteria associated with acne.

 Liquorice extract

A potent anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant to reduce redness and calm sensitive skin. Liquorice extract helps to regulate the oil gland, making it an ideal ingredient for acne and congested skin. It also helps to reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone and pigmentation.

Additional ingredients:

Aloe vera leaf juice, panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), rosemary essential oil. Hydroxy Acid Blend also contains citric acid.

A note from Terri

Plus Icon Minus Icon

I formulated D-Congest as a targeted spot treatment to address the root causes of acne, not just the symptoms. It tackles four key factors: excess skin cell production, overactive oil glands, bacterial overgrowth, and inflammation. Salicylic acid cleanses deeply and soothes, while AHAs exfoliates surface dead skin cells. The formula includes oil-balancing botanicals, antibacterial manuka oil, and anti-inflammatories like liquorice extract, aloe, and bisabolol. Australian Tea Tree Oil, a clinically proven botanical, offers powerful antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant benefits, while Rosemary Essential Oil provides additional antibacterial and anti-inflammatory support, reducing acne lesions and combating bacteria while minimising inflammation and oxidative stress.
